Key points
- PM-International is a direct-selling company for supplements, health and fitness products, founded in 1993, headquartered in Luxembourg with its European centre in Speyer, Germany.
- Partners mainly report flexible hours, working from home, a supportive team and personal growth.
- Criticism focuses on ongoing costs through the product subscription, prices above drugstore level and exaggerated promises by some partners on social media.
- As in all network marketing, many partners only earn a small extra income. It suits people who use the products themselves and invest time regularly.
If you’re thinking about joining PM-International, you’re probably looking for honest experiences. Online you mostly find two extremes: enthusiastic success stories and blanket condemnations. This article puts both side by side. Transparency note: this site belongs to an independent PM-International distributor. So we have an interest, which is exactly why we try to be fair.

What partners like
In conversations with partners and in the stories on this site, the same points come up again and again:
Flexible hours. Almost everyone mentions this first. Christian from Hamburg explains that as a child he hardly had time with his parents and wanted to change exactly that. Today he chooses when and with whom he works.
Working from home. For Sandra this was decisive after a family member needed care.
Not starting from zero. The company handles production, shipping, the shop and payment collection. Partners focus on customers and their team, not logistics.
Team and training. Many appreciate the academies, trainings and exchange with other partners, especially at the start.
Personal growth. Several partners say they’ve become more confident. Christian from Münster describes how he overcame his fear of speaking in front of people.
A second chance. Björn started with poor grades and debt and has worked as a partner full-time since 2008.
Common criticisms, honestly assessed
“It’s network marketing.” True. PM-International uses a multi-level compensation model. That’s legal as long as income comes from product sales rather than joining fees. More in our guide Is network marketing legit or a scam?
Ongoing costs through the product subscription. Also true. The usual start involves a monthly product set. That makes sense if you use and value the products yourself. If not, it’s a cost your business first has to earn back.
Products cost more than in the drugstore. Compared with basic drugstore products, PM-International is more expensive. The company cites quality and manufacturing. Whether that’s worth it to you is something you should test before recommending anything to others.
Exaggerated promises by some partners. On social media you’ll find posts with fast cars and big income claims. That harms everyone who works honestly. Don’t let it dazzle you, positively or negatively.
Many earn little. That applies to network marketing as a whole. A large share of partners earn a small extra income or mainly use the products themselves. Earning more takes time, persistence and real customers.
Who it suits, and who it doesn’t
It can be a good fit if you
- want to use and try the products yourself,
- can invest a few hours a week regularly,
- enjoy talking to people or want to learn,
- want to build something of your own without a shop or big capital.
It’s probably not for you if you
- need a secure income from month one,
- expect quick money without work,
- aren’t convinced by the products yourself,
- feel uncomfortable recommending things to people.
How to form your own opinion
- Test the products: Be convinced yourself before recommending anything.
- Listen to the stories: Real partners tell in our video stories how they started.
- Read the compensation plan: Ask to see exactly how you’re paid.
- Clarify costs: Start-up costs, ongoing costs and cancellation terms belong on the table before you start. See our FAQ.
- Have an honest conversation: Ask critical questions. A reputable partner can handle them.
Frequently asked questions
Is PM-International legit?
PM-International has been on the market since 1993, is publicly documented and, according to Direct Selling News, is one of the largest direct-selling companies in the world by revenue. Product sales are rewarded, not recruiting. Whether it suits you depends on your expectations and effort.
What does it cost to join PM-International?
Costs differ by country. As an example, in Austria (October 2026) starting as a team partner costs €104.65 in the first month, then €84.75 per month for a product set you use yourself. We go through the details for your country in a call.
Can you really make money with PM-International?
Yes, but not automatically. Income comes from product sales to your customers and, if you build a team, from team bonuses. Many earn a modest extra income on the side; higher incomes usually take years.
